20 minutes west of Portland in a quaint little park called Greenway, which is nestled in the back of a Beaverton neighborhood, typical of any American suburb, one could find the Bobby Torres Ensemble practicing medicine!
As the evening sun began to touch the horizon, the Ensemble prescribed a dish full of heart-felt rhythms to an audience made up mostly of families, groups of friends and thirty to forty-something-year-olds having picnics in the park.
Sitting at the park during this lazy, summer day in the presence of your community, while bodies danced, little smiling faces running around gleefully, and the sun warmly wrapping its evening rays fully around you, was the the perfect dose of medicine for anyone feeling down or sad for whatever reason.
Whether your going through a break up, the loss of a good friend, or you and your cat just had a really bad day (lol!), one couldn’t help but feel all around love and happiness.
Instantaneously, one felt their cores penetrated whilst listening to the potent vocals of Julana Torres and Karla Harris singing their sultry Salsa version of “I Will Survive” (en espanol to top it off) .
No mind altering drug in the world would have left you feeling the way it felt yesterday listening to the Bobby Torres Ensemble at Greenway park!
